108 Fans!

I have 108 fans on the DCFB facebook site. Now, if only I knew what to do with any of the data. However, the statistics are finally working. This week we have 269.5 score for the quality of posting. I'm not really sure what that means yet, but I'll keep you posted as I figure it out.

In other news, today was practically the final day for Dairy Challenge practice. Now we're off to Vasailia to see how we stack up to the other teams. Dr. WN even mentioned a short trip to Yosemite in the mix? Oh, how I love Yosemite...

GO GREEN!

I can honestly say I don't have much time to post on here this week. This month I have too many presentations, competitions, church holidays, wedding planning dates, 4-H activities, exams and other stuff to keep up on here. However, I just wanted to put in a brief plug for my Spartans (my personal recommendation to those of you staying in the Lansing area this weekend - watch the game at Dagwood's. Great bar, great atmosphere, moderate service and always an entertaining, non-accurate and generally exorbitant bill). I'm sorry to Evan Turner and the team from Ohio for not winning out, I had you guys picked in my bracket, but I'm so very happy for the Izzo crew to be back in the Final Four. The trophy is within reach, and I am so excited!

Hero of the day

Interesting, I'd never heard of him. So true of true heroes... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierlucio_Tinazzi

19 fans!

Today when I logged into facebook, Delaware County Farm Bureau already had 19 fans! I don't even know what to do with it, but it looks like once it starts growing I can estimate a lot of sweet data with facebook's data exporters now. I'm very excited.

Books, and a Fan Site

I found it interesting that the one guy whose blog I follow just listed his top 10 most influential books. If only I could get a chance to stop reading class literature, that'd be a lot of fun to sort out sometime. But not right now.

In other news, I've started the facebook fan page for "Delaware County Farm Bureau". Regardless of your location, if you care about agriculture or local food or decently priced insurance, you should become a fan and share the site with your friends. :) Please? I'm new to this whole fan page thing, but I'm giving it a go, persay, on behalf of Katie and Trish.

MSU Dominance

Just in case people ever doubt my stat about MSU and the past decade... CBS quote today "Most tournament wins since 1999: MSU 30, Duke 29."

It's been a pretty busy week here. I'm staying up here all by myself; it's weird with the house abandoned. Yesterday we had an all day trip up to the deVor diary in the thumb. Being my first time in the thumb, I was honestly impressed. We always make fun of people from there, but it was pretty nice. Sure it's flat and unbelievably boring, but still it was nice to get out and see country.

I just want to throw a special shout out to the facilitators in DC this week. Sorry that I couldn't come visit, but I'm sure you are having a fantastic time and I hope it goes great!

March Madness

Ok, so after just 4 games, I've already lost 2 out of my bracket. Great, right? lol. I've already even lost a team from my sweet sixteen.

Now it only MSU can beat Kansas on Sunday...

Just wow.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6HusggA8k8 (and no, someone did not just hack my site).

Online today...

Check this out? I didn't believe it at first, but it's like netflix for your underwear, except you can't stream online? http://manpacks.com/

Also of interest, it is 10* warmer here in Ohio than it is up at school. Just in case you all wonder why I want to move back.

I'm also not a big fan of Napster. Amazon, please? Youtube.com is easier to stream music through than Napster.

Blog Following, and the Relay for Life

Through Andy with ABN's blog (which I follow), I found a link today to a new guy... Phipps. I don't really have many blogs I follow yet, and I'm being careful not to tack up too many of them on the list else I never get anything else done everyday. I already read the news in 3 different countries; I don't know how much time I have.

Anyhow, the real point of this post was Phipps' comments related to how the anti-HSUS attitude floating around recently has probably been more damaging to our goals than it has been helpful. I've personally been very frustrated with how the anti-HSUS 'activism' has been so fired up, irrational and disorganized. I feel it has nothing to accomplish except for the destruction of our reputation. Hopefully more people will realize the damage they are doing to our cause before they lash out. Compromise is a word nobody wants to hear, but it is a word that needs to be considered here. Now if only HSUS would realize this also?

On other news... I signed up for the Relay for Life at Michigan State University. Our club (Phi Sigma Theta) is signed up for it, but we're short on walkers and money. If you feel like or want to donate, please do. Regardless of the amount of money, it will make a big difference in our club's contribution. Welcome back to me...

I'm back!!!! I have a new computer as a pre-graduation gift from Mom and Dad, and I have finally gotten it all adjusted to how I want it to be after the last 3 hours of configuration. It's really nice to have a computer, and even better a new computer. I'm planning on taking very good care of this, of course, but I'm also excited to put it to the full test and really get some stuff done with it. :)

And Amanda... I love you. I don't post that often, but I really just wanted to say that today. You've been so patient (and sometimes not. ;) ) as I've sorted through all this computer stuff and I'm just excited to be able to finally get to talk to you again every day.

What a weekend!

My weekend was pretty crazy, and with so much studying to do now, I really don't have much time to catch you up on all of it. Basically, it consisted of seeing Amanda, a lot! :), of bowling Thursday night, DeSaegher farm visit Friday with Marcus and the Team (and missing seeing Sarah Falk), of driving home in a worse set-up than last time (took me 5+hours and I saw a driver flip and had to call EMS for him), pre-Cana (which is way better than I expected) and chasing cows Sunday night.

I just want to say real quick that I'm sick of people sitting in our classes and lecturing about how Ohio is going to lose this fall. Gee, thanks for the support, eh? It's hard to be positive about stuff, sure, but just because Michigan is screwed over already, that doesn't mean they need to be hating on Ohio agriculture. That's just stupid.

On another note, I filed a complaint with National City a week ago for a mis-filed charge on my card, and today I got $50 back! :) That was pretty exciting.
