Screwed up

Sure, we're all a bit messed up inside, but this is one of those things that just takes the cake.

And for those history nerds among us... Churchill's false teeth?

Maurice Clarett among other things

The state fair is starting, so you probably have to be wondering why Maurice Clarett stole my headline today? Mostly this is just because I plan on blogging about him first. For those of you who don't know who Clarett is, you probably ought to look at this wikipedia about him. Then for those of you who don't know, it was announced this week that he plans to return to OSU to pursue his bachelors' degree and doesn't want to interfere with the football team, etc. I highly doubt the press will leave him to those lofty voiced intentions. Anyhow, I did a little background reading on the guy and stumbled into this blog of his (or supposedly his) from while he was in prison. I actually believe it to be his but eh, what do I know. Regardless, it's interesting to see inside another person's mind, but even more so interesting if this is either a famous person or someone who is important to you. So I read it just in case it was real, and if you can get past the simplicity of many of the blogs, you might make it to page 2 before you're bored out of your mind. I'd have thought there was a lot more to think about in prison...

So the Ohio State Fair. Right now we stand at a bit less than par for the shows our family has been in. We aren't really natural sheep showmen and while my sister is by far the best, we all pale in comparison to a state or national stage. She made a good showing and proved she has a great ability for showing sheep. Me on the other hand, I'd rather stick to cattle showing any day of the year if only they weren't so expensive to keep around. Anywho, it was fun to watch the show yesterday, see people I don't see often and explain the show to two new faces we brought to this years' fair. Congratulations to Shellhouse for winning her category with a great performance and good luck to all of this years' competitors as they try to achieve their goals.

Check out this sweet new Lockheed Martin development. :)

Miley Cyrus... ugh...

Unbelievable the path she has taken downhill.

Best report on the Russians

Just in case you were looking for a good report related to the Russian spy arrests, check out the Daily Show. Even CNN was quoting them on this, in case you can believe that. You'll additionally hear some funny things related to Kagan's reviews.

Happy Belated 4th

I just wanted to post on here briefly. With my limited amount of time the past week and this coming week, I have been spending far more time posting on my agriculture blog and less time on this one. I apologize for the lack of personal information in what is going on in my life right now but suffice it to say that I have been very busy and so has Amanda. Settling in together has been a very smooth process that leaves me confident for our future as we've both exhibited great patience and understanding, which will be necessary in the long run for sure.

Both of us are still trying to get things moved into the house and put into the places where they belong. There are still boxes sitting around, but in the past week we've managed to have people over a couple of times to grill out with our new grill, show off our new washer and dryer (nothing spells independence like doing your own laundry with your own appliances) and go swimming in our pool.

Pooling has been interesting in its own right. Some days we go down there to find nobody in it, and then other days there are the oddballs. Last week there was a woman in a bikini that as Amanda put it, did a pretty good job of somehow absorbing her bikini into her body somewhere. If you can't control your inner amoeba, I'd suggest not wearing things like that, I'm just saying. And then there are the days that the pool is locked up at 9.30. Who does that? It's typically rare to even find a locked pool, let alone a pool that's locked before closing time. Needless to say, it was pretty frustrating to me.

Anyhow, that's life in this department. With Denver 2 days away and less than 2 weeks before 4-H camp, finding time to post will be difficult. I am going to try and put up a few wedding picture as they come through. Until then, feel free to check out our wedding website and the engagement photos which are still linked through that site.
